David Blum is a business graduate of Boston University and holds a Masters Degree in Marketing Management from Fordham University in New York. After spending over 20 years in various management positions both in retail and truck rental and leasing sales and operations, he was a guest speaker at the 1983 National Self-Storage convention in Las Vegas. Mr. Blum entered the self-storage industry full time in 1996. A district manager for Storage USA, Mr. Blum went on to become Vice President of Operation for Budget Mini-Storage in South Florida, helping to grow from 2 facilities to 10 in 4 short years while firmly establishing Budget as the premier brand of the region.

In 1998 Mr. Blum co-founded the South Florida Self-Storage Association which, in 2001 became the Florida Self-Storage Association of which he was president until January 1, 2004. Mr. Blum has been a regional board member of the National Self-Storage Association, and continues to represent Florida as both an FSSA Trustee and on the Nation Self Storage Association’s States Council Committee. He is a frequent contributor to many trade publications including Mini-Storage Messenger, Inside Self-Storage, and The Self Storage Telegram.

Along with an extensive client list in Florida, Mr. Blum is currently working on or completed projects in many other areas of the US and internationally.

Mr. Blum has two grown sons and resides in Coral Springs, Florida with his wife of 40 years.
